What we did
This door at Ross Dress for Less in Arlington kept binding. It rubbed and hit the frame, so it would not close all the way. A door that won't close can't be locked.
Doors that get used all day wear out their hinges. The door drops a little, and then it starts hitting the frame.
We put on a continuous hinge. It runs the whole height of the door, so the weight is held along the full edge, not just at a few points. Then we reset the door so it lines up with the frame again.
Now the door swings free and closes on its own.
Parts we used
- Continuous hinge (full height)
- Door reset and adjustment
