- Double check all entry doors are locked, including the garage door.
- Look into getting smart video door bell cameras
- Install door sensors
- Pushbutton entry doorknobs are easier to open than deadbolts for burglars. Install deadbolt locks on all your outside doors or have one installed professionally
- Install an interior side only deadbolt or have one installed by a professional
- If you happen to have a sliding glass door or patio use a “blocking/security bar”
- Look into getting security cameras installed
- Leave lights on when you go out. If you are going to be away for a length of time, connect some lamps to automatic timers to turn them on in the evening and off during the day.
- Make sure the outside property is kept clear of any large bushes
